Baby Photography FAQs

When is the best time to have my baby photographed?

The best time to photograph babies is when they are sitting up unaided. This generally happens around 6-9 months old. At this stage when they are sitting but not mobile I can give you more variety in your session.

When should I book my baby session?

I only require a few weeks notice for baby sessions however it is best to book as far in advance as possible.

Where is your studio based?

My home studio is based in Cambuslang (near Blantyre), Glasgow.

What should I bring?

I recommend bringing one outfit with you which I will photograph your baby wearing at the start. The rest of the session will be done just wearing their nappy. If you child has a favourite toy that you would like them photographed with then please bring it along as well.

Do you provide props?

Yes, I have some lovely bespoke props, outfits and blankets that we will use during your session although I like to keep things simple and focused on your baby.

Do you photograph younger/older babies?

Yes, I can photograph babies from 4 months which is a nice stage to capture if you have missed your newborn session. For older babies (toddlers) I recommend an outdoor session at a local park so that they can run around and have fun.

What happens if someone in the family is sick?

If someone in the household has a D&V bug within the last 48 hours it is extremely important that you contact me to reschedule. Due to the fact that I work with newborn babies it's essential that they are not exposed to viruses.

How long after the photoshoot will see my images?

After the photo shoot I will spend time professionally retouching your images. During busy periods this can between 1-2 weeks, I will advise you at your session.

Do you offer additional products?

Yes, I have a number of product available to purchase from photo folios to frames. A more detailed list is available on my products photography products

Do you require a deposit?

To book your baby photography session I require a deposit. The deposit is the full session fee please see my newborn prices for further information. Baby Photography Prices

Why do you charge a session fee?

A session fee is a creative fee which covers my time and talent to create images that you will treasure forever. It also covers full use of luxury studio props and my time professionally retouching your images for viewing.
