As I have been a Glasgow newborn photographer for almost 10 years I have learned how to adapt when babies don't want to sleep. When I first started my business all those years ago I very naively thought that babies just slept all the time. I soon learned that this is not the case. Over the years I have learned many soothing techniques to soothe babies and settle them into a nice sleep. I have perfected my workflow so that I am able to transition them from pose to pose with very minimal movements. Babies can be unpredictable though and might not want to sleep so I have a few tricks up my sleeve for photographing awake babies.
Baby Mila came to visit me in my Glasgow newborn studio a few weeks ago and she decided that she was there to party. She absolutely did not want to be touched while she was trying to sleep so I used my props and wraps to settle her back to sleep and keep her feeling secure. Through my experience I have been able to perfect different wrapping techniques so that I can give my clients different looks while the baby remains wrapped. I am absolutely in love with my new floral wraps as they add a touch of femininity for baby girls. You would never guess that this little one was awake for about 90% of the session.
